07. What is the reason why cults prosper and fallacies are prevalent?

Currently, cults prosper and fallacies are prevalent. Among victims there are never short of ones received higher education. What does it mean? Are these people ignorant or out of their minds? No. In fact, they are normal-minded, well-educated, always curious about the unknown areas in universe and life. Therefore, from the society point of view, contemporary science, religions and politics cannot give satisfactory answers to the fundamental problems of human society, and phenomena of nature and life. This leads many people to pursue false beliefs.

Lao-Tze, an ancient Chinese sage said, “The Way is level and straight. Yet people prefer to go on their devious paths. ” Nowadays, there emerge many masters, such as life master, Qigong master, soul master, psycho master. And so do many theories about virtue. Somebody embezzles the truth of sages and religions, named himself patriarch of a certain sect by arbitrarily creating a kind of form. And then he starts to bluff his way. These people, gaining fame by deceiving the public, presenting bigger confusion to others, do harm to the society. If what they said is truth, what is what sages of the five religions had said? If they are called the instructor of life, how do we place the ancient sages? No matter good or bad, no matter kind or evil are the intentions of these “masters”, “experts”, or “professors”, we must firstly consider whether they possess truly perfect theories of life. If their theories do not hold water, do not endure severe thinking and reasoning, do not endure tests of time, no matter how well his intention is, how strong their power is, how high his renown is, what they said is merely a misleading fallacies..
